It can be daunting, however, studying for a large exam. It makes sense to take advantage of clep prep help that is available, including online clep study guides.

A clep study guide can provide you with several different kinds of testing help. Some guides features lists of questions that you are likely to find on the clep exam, while others have sample tests that you can take for additional practice.

There are benefits to both types of clep study guide. If you are quite proficient in the subject of the test, then working through some of the test questions in a flashcard-style format might be all the extra help you need. Definitive Guide to Eastern Michigan University

Eastern Michigan University is a major public university in Michigan. It's located in Ypsilanti, which is about 35 miles west of Detroit, and only 8 miles east of Ann Arbor (home of the University of Michigan). Being in the middle of a major metropolitan area makes it an ideal commuter school, and it's proximity to Detroit Metro Airport (just a 15 minute drive), makes it perfect for out-of-towners, as well.

The University itself consists of 122 buildings making up the 5 colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Health & Human Services and Technology, as well as a Graduate School. The campus sits on 800 acres in a small town setting, with close proximity to major cities giving students plenty to keep them occupied during their "down time".

Eastern Michigan University was founded in 1849 (when it was known as the Michigan State Normal School), and has been known as Eastern Michigan University since 1959. The official school nickname has been the Eagles since 1991, after they acquiesced to Native American concerns over their use of the previous school nickname - The Hurons. The student body of roughly 23,000 is split about 60/40 on the female to male ratio, and the EMU administration claims Eastern Michigan University has one of the lowest crime rates in the country.

EMU has one of the most well respected Forensics teams in the nation, having placed in the top 10 at the NFA national championship every year since they began in 1971, including ten team national championships and 66 individual national championships. Eastern Michigan University is in the MAC, and has had some success in varsity sports, including several appearances by their basketball team in "The Big Dance".

An interesting, but little known fact is that the Halle Library (named for benefactor, and EMU alum Bruce Halle, founder of Discount Tire Stores) houses one of the largest collections of children's literature in the world. This state of the art library (the only one on campus) is four stories tall and several stories underground, as well. It includes full wireless internet connectivity, along with free tutoring for all students.

Copeland and Carl Pursell, James Coburn - a Four-Star General and Rodney Slater - US Secretary of Transportation under President Clinton. Create Your Plan For College Success

Planning for college is one of the most important steps you can take toward success as a student. You can create a personal road map to your goals in higher education . . . and it's easy to do!

Here is a practical 8 step plan:

1. Get a copy of the college catalog for your school. These annual guides list all course offerings and are usually available at the campus bookstore. The annual college catalog also lists all degree programs and the course requirements for each.



2. Look inside the college catalog and find the requirements for your selected major or course of study. Make sure to take into account any general education, prerequisites or special requirements mentioned in the catalog.



3. Select a class to fulfill each requirement and write it on a list. If possible, choose an alternate class that will also fulfill the requirement. Planning for flexibility will allow you to maintain momentum toward obtaining your degree. You will inevitably face obstacles in the form of full classes, inconvenient class times and the occasional professor you'd rather not be alone with in a dark office.



4. Write the number of quarters or semesters you intend to attend college before completing your requirements. Note your intended graduation date. It's best to choose an ideal graduation date and another later date in case it takes longer to fulfill the degree requirements than you had originally anticipated. For example, you may elect to drop a class or take a leave of absence from your studies for personal reasons. Ask a college counselor how many quarters or semesters you are allowed to attend before school policy indicates that you must graduate or leave. Many schools limit the amount of units you can accumulate before you must declare the intent to graduate.



5. Divide the number of semesters from step four by the number of courses you must complete in order to graduate. This number will indicate how many classes you must take each term to graduate by your predetermined graduation date. You may be required to enroll in a minimum amount of course units in order to be considered a full-time student. Full-time status may be important to students who seek federal and state financial aid. Speak to a financial aid counselor at the college you will attend and check the Free Application For Federal Student Aid Eligibility FAQ for help with financial aid planning.



6. Write a heading for each semester (i.e. Fall 2008, Spring 2009, etc.) on a new list. Using the number from step five, list that number of classes from your list under each heading. Make certain that you select classes that you would like to take at the same time. For example, you may want to take an elective at the same time that you take a more intense class to balance your course load. You may also consider enrolling in courses with similar subject matter during the same term in order to take advantage of cross referenced knowledge. Two term papers for similar History courses can become one term paper, reedited to target the objective of each of two or more related classes.



7. Make an appointment with a college counselor at your school and have him or her review you plan. They can make helpful suggestions or guide you toward resources related to your studies.



8. Be flexible. Sometimes a class won't be available, you may be able to speed up your plan or you may fall behind. You may even find that your interests change completely and you need to adjust or create an entirely new plan. With your plan you will be able to make steady measurable progress and achieve your goal!

Practical Advice For LSAT

A Few Days Before the Test

During the three days leading up to the test, you should complete several LSAT simulations. Try to match the test conditions and the administration time (usually 8:30 AM) as closely as possible. If you are not usually an early riser, get up early on the days before the test to allow your body to become adjusted.

There is no such thing as "cramming for the LSAT"; any effort to "cram" material will only increase your fatigue on test day. On the day before the test, you should stop studying by the early afternoon. Your test simulation on the morning prior to the actual test day should give you a good indication of your score, and whether or not you should take the LSAT the following day.

It is a good idea to scout out the test room prior to the test day. If you are driving to the test center, decide in advance where you will park, and locate the nearest washrooms. If you are not driving, plan to leave home earlier than usual in case there are delays along the way.

On the Day of the Test

Be sure to bring all of the items listed in the Registration Bulletin. Double-check to make sure you have the following items when you leave the house for the test center:

· The admission ticket sent to you by the LSAC, which you must sign to receive your score

· Personal identification: a driver's license, student ID, employee ID, or passport

· HB or No. 2 pencils and highlighter pens. These are the only writing implements allowed in the test room.

Be sure to eat and drink before to the test. Fruit, breakfast cereal, energy bars, and fruit juices are all good choices. Also, bring some snacks for intermission. Avoid engaging in too much conversation with other test-takers. Concentrate on preparing yourself for the test, and ignore test-takers who seem overly nervous.

Take an ACT Or SAT Practice Test For Free

If your 11th grader is thinking about college, you need to know that the Princeton Review gives your kid the chance to take a free SAT or ACT college entrance exam about 2 - 3 times per year. All you need to do is call their toll free number and set up the test date in a location near you.

There is also an option to get a test sent to your house to take at home. This might be OK if you have the discipline to time the test and provide a location with no distractions. However, it's probably better practice to take the test at a location away from home to better mimic the actual testing environment.

Once you get your results back, you'll be able to see where your study efforts are best spent. No sense studying for math if you got them all right.

I've also read that kids who over study or study too close to the test date do worse than kids who just take it in stride. So don't overdo it or the results could backfire.

The Princeton Review also coaches kids in particular areas or they can take a course to prepare for either the SAT or the ACT. You can find local professionals and teachers at your school that can help coach your kids through the process.

It's a good thing to try and do well on these tests since better scores may help your child get scholarships or get into their preferred college.
