College Internship - What to Expect

By Violet Williams

As a college student, you have the option to study a plethora of career fields. With the vast number of study programs to pursue in college, it can sometimes be a little intimidating and overwhelming to choose one. Once you have chosen a field of study however, you may still find yourself wondering if the career field you have chosen is something that you will enjoy doing for the rest of your life.

One way to find out if you will really enjoy the career field that you have chosen is to complete a college internship. An internship college can be one of the best ways to get a feel for what your chosen career will be like after college. If you do not complete an internship or take on some other job that will give you an insight into your career, you will basically be walking into the career field blindly without really knowing if you will be enjoying what you do at your job.

The type of work that you can expect to do during your college internship will vary a great deal depending on what career field you are in and what company you will be working for. Ideally, during an internship college, you should be given a great deal of experience working in your career field and guidance from your employer. A college internship is really supposed to be a learning experience and hopefully you will find that the one that you complete will give you a good idea of what things will be like working in your career field after you graduate from college.
