Competition is one of the things that make the life of every College Student great. It can be everywhere, in classes or extra-curricular activities. Life of a college student could never be as exciting without struggles for excellence and dreams of being on top. Without competition, there is no way for us to identify outstanding students who can represent the schools for tournaments.
Competition is most popular in sports. This is the spice of every game. It attracts people to watch the games as it makes the games very exciting. Because of this, there are rivalries. With its arousal, there will be champions. The champions are the best competitors for a season and can win trophies, recognition and individual awards. If you want to know one of the most competitive varsity teams in the history of college teams, then you should get to know the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They are a member of the Division I of the National College Athletics Association. They are also members of the Big 12 Conference taking part of its Northern Division. They have great varsity teams that have won national titles and the most popular ones are their football, volleyball and gymnastics. Their varsity team is called the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Gymnastics
This is a sport full of flexible bodies and it is one of the teams that win more for this school. Both men's and women's divisions have been hailed champions for years. The women division grabbed 10 Big 8 Championship titles and 8 Big 12 Titles. For the men division, they have 8 National titles. Because of their performance not only they get a chance to bring glory to their schools but they also gave glory to their country when 10 of their gymnasts represented United States in the Olympics.
Football
Who would not love muscle men in tights? The American passion is also one of the most loved teams in this university. This is one of the longest teams to play for college football since they started in 1890. Their winning era for the National Championships began way back in 1970. They won a total of 5 National Titles to which the latest was in 1997.They have 2 of the best coaches in the face of football: Paul "Bear" Bryant and Tom Osborne.
Volleyball
The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team is one of the best in the country. They won 3 NCAA Championship titles under the coaching of John Cook and Terry Pettit. Sarah Pavan was one of their star players who have been the leader in the team since her freshman years. Her presence in this team helped the Huskers to be one of the greatest in the history of College Volleyball.
These are just the teams that won the most championship matches. They are one of the many bests in their school. No wonder they have such great fans as they continue to fight to become the best competitors in sports.
Freddie Brister is a huge fan of the Big 12 and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His love for the game of football started with an older brother passing the pigskin around in the backyard with cousins and neighborhood friends.
